THIS place is a must.  It’s always our very first stop on the way from the airport to our folk’s place when we visit San Diego.  Naturally when we decided to start this series, what better place to begin than at one of our yummiest examples of happy-places.  We talked to Connie at the register about what her concept of the Good Life was.

FAMILY OWNER, BAHIA DON BRAVO

“WHAT’S YOUR CONCEPT OF THE GOOD LIFE?”

“The good life is family and health.  I’ve learned that through all my years.  If you don’t have that you will feel empty.”

BAHIA Don Bravo is a family run Mexican must-try in Birdrock, outside San Diego proper.  Since opening the original in Ixtapa, Mexico almost 40 years ago, they’ve been offering fresh, coastal Mexican staples.  Having their lobster burrito with a michelada on the back deck while the sun sets toward the Pacific Ocean is just about always the perfect place to be.
